Allez les bleu!

"Tonight is the first game of our dream boys", said the woman behind the snackbar counter of our "one night stand" camping. "We will show the game here in our bar at 20:30", she continued. We actually wanted to call it an early night but then decided to join the local fans. By the way, you could count them from one hand.

At 20:30 we arrived at the bar. Let the show begin! It fast turned out that the actual entertainment didn't come from the game, but from the fact that the digital TV reception was really bad. The locals blamed it on bad weather. Let the endless tweaking of the digibox begin! It was basically impossible to follow the game. Back in Finland we would for sure have left the bar.

For us, the game fast became second priority. We had some very nice discussion with some french seniors. Now and then you could hear some comments like "Merde!" or "C'est pas possible!". Then the worst happened. Mexico scored a goal. To our surprise, the locals were not shocked. They actually applauded for the Mexicans. But soon after, the first strong alcohol botttle appeard at the table.

The French seem to deal with defeat the same way the Finns do :)
